Nauticstar owners? Older model opinions

How does the older style hulls ride, 04 and under maybe 05. The 06 and up if I'm correct have a completely Different hull which has a deeper V. I maybe considering 04 and up with I buy.

I see a few up for sale with the older style hulls.
Just wanted to get some info on these hulls?

You have been in mine. It's a 09. It's a dry riding boat. Not the fastest thing on the water but it will def get u out there. When we going fishing again. I plan on making a trip sat and pos Sunday.

I dont know, the only Nauticstar Ive every fished from is Longcast's. Now I'm not sure if its the boat or or not, but we never seem to catch fish out of it. Just sayin, something to look in to.

All seriousness, yes his boat has a nice setup, a really smooth ride, and it takes some pretty hellacious conditions for it to get you wet. If only he would get some electronics on there....

Most bay boats don't have a deep V.
They have a sharp entry but flatten out in back so they can get in shallow water.

Ray 10-13-2011 03:03 PM

My step uncle had a 21 ft, sold it and bought a 24 ft.

so its called a sharp entry instead of deep v. what a semi v then example please? thats what i dont wont. I guess my 17ft. predator is has a semi v, bc it isnt sharp. correct me if im wrong.

I don't know what it looks like.
Good V in the front for breaking waves.
Deep V is when the V goes all the way to the back of the boat.
Mostly offshore boats.
Bay boats can have a sharp V in front, but they get flatter in towards the back so they can go in shallower water. Makes them more stable also.

im starting to lean towards the 21ft nauticstar instead of blazer bay. being that i have a 6 and 5 year old. they would be safer in those rear seats vs swivle seats in the blazer.

We have an 06 21' Nautic Star. It's a really dry ride. Takes rough water very well. Use it in fresh and salt.

Montauk17 10-13-2011 08:44 PM

Nautic star makes a really nice boat without breaking the bank.

Raymond 10-13-2011 08:46 PM

Rode an 05 21' for 2 yrs and it was more than enough boat. Just make sure the anchor locker drains out instead of in the boat.
