I jumped on-board Capt Chris Veneble's Brand new boat today to help him break it in and slime it up!! No problem putting slime all over it, as our first stop had the Yellow-mouths in the 15-17 inch range hitting the deck and ice one after another (No throwbacks). When the bite slowed down we went put some time on the engine and scouted some new area looking for more trout. We found trout at every stop, as the fish could not resist biting our Cocodrie Cocahoes (no other baits needed in the boat!!). Coco pepper and Mardi Gras colors have been putting a hurt on the fish. Today's fish wanted the baits under a cork, so that is what we gave them!! We only stopped under one flock of birds all day and put another 3 keepers in the box and had one throw back. The trout are showing up more and more each day and should bust loose after 1-2 more good cold fronts. Thanks Chris, great time today.
