Lost a bunk
Bunk came off trailer Sunday , need to replace today. Glass boat-does it need to be covered with carpet or can I just go with bare wood?

Galvanized nails or screws. I'll see if I have a bunch of screws. How long will the bunk board be?

Protect the glass from the wood.

X2. When I bought my boat the trailer was not angled right. The boat wore thought the carpet and the wood wore into my boat. I have pics if u need.

Make sure u secure it from the underside of the bunk.... Not the top side where the boat hull will rest.
Seen a guy screw on his plastic bunkcover that came off ..... He did it on top.
U could hear the screw rip thru the hull when he loaded it on the trailer.
Ouch!!!!!!!!!

Ray you can go carpetless but you stand more of a chance of scuffing up the the gelcoat ive heard of somepeople using fire hose

Fire hose is more abrasive than carpet. Not good for fiberglass. Bolt board down with carrage bolts and sink them in good. S/S staples for carpet. use bunk carpet or second choice outdoor carpet. Do not use a plush carpet. Temporary use of board only is ok but cover it ASAP.
