Specklebellies

Hunted Saturday with my good friend Jacob Hagen and his brother Zack. Zack is in the marines and lives in Michigan and was in for the holidays so I took both of them plus their dad. Their dad didn't want to buy a license, so we were only allowed 6 birds. We hunted the Welsh blind and it was a tough morning, a lot of birds but they were just being sucked in by a huge body next to us. We had the oppurtunity to limit out but poor shooting on my end kept us from it, and we passed on two shooting oppurtunities due to me wanting to see how far I could push the birds since I didn't have customers. We ended the day with 4 specks.

Today was a different story. I woke up from having one too many keystones last night and struggled to get myself to the gas station to meet everyone. Talk about a pounding head. Birds were everywhere in Klondike. Really glad I carried myself out there. Most birds I have seen in 2 years out there today and the specklebellies were moving heavily. It was another fun hunt with Jacob, my cousin Jared, and our good friend Mr. Craig Burns. We killed our 8 specks plus a bonus snow. It was crazy the amount of specks that were moving around Klondike this morning. I had a great time listening to Mr. Craig and Jared go back and forth at one another. I have a hilarious picture of Mr. Craig but I wasn't sure about posting it here, you can see his rear end....

Had a really fun weekend in the fields and my dad and brother had a great time in Texas. They are on their way home right now. My brother tagged out with a spike and an 8 point. Hope everyone had as fun as a weekend as I did. Now back to that school and work routine for a few more weeks until winter break.

I'm to the point where I don't care about a duck, I love hunting those specklebellies. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy a good duck shoot. But I would rather watch those specks make a few laps and get right in your face

If Lyons point is near Lyons road in thornwell, someone lied to you buddy. There was at least 5000 birds behind that house with those huge live oaks off 380

Only the best, riceland custom call. You cannot beat the sounds that call can produce. And if your on a budget, check out there poly calls. They sound awesome and for about 65 bucks, your lucky they don't press charges for theft when you buy one of those cuz it's a steal
