This is my dad's boat he had built in 1990. He wants to sell it but we have nothing to go by since it is homemade.
Specs;
All 3/16 welded, 18'6" semi-v with Mariner Mag II 150 (1989),Bolt on walk thru windshield, Minnkota trolling motor,3 fairly new batteries,stainless props (2-3 and blade),galvanized tandem axle trailer (forgot brand).
This boat is forsale but not onsale, dad is 77 and has started to line up everything since his health has been in decline. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would say motor is probably worth 300-500, Boat is worth 1500-2000, and trailer is worth about $500. So I would say price it $3000 or a little more and see what happens

I'd say the boat itself is worth more than $2000, the hull that is. With steel prices the way they are, you couldn't touch the material alone for less than $2000. You may want to contact Gaudet custom boats in Sorrento. He may be able to help you more than me. Also, SimplePeddler may have some insight as well.

Thanks, I have found the original builder and waiting for him to get back to me. Agree, the material is double the $2,000 easy and labor who knows. Will let ya know what builder says but still have to find someone who wants to own and pay the price.

Builder says; $7,500 for hull, $1,500 motor, and $1,500 for trailer....$10,500 total rig.

I'd say $10,500 is a lil on the high side but would be a good starting point. My guess is $7500-8000 would be a fair price.

Have you had a mechanic look at the motor to check compression, etc???

On another note. Have bought and sold many boats. This is the worst time to try and sell a boat. Start pushing hard about the time the boat shows start.

Gave dad the numbers and he did not agree but that is what 77 yr old fathers do; disagree. Doubt he sells for what the experts are saying it's worth. Thanks for all the input, would be fun to go back in time and maybe do some things differently.

Yeah my grandfather sold his boat for about 5 grand less than what is was worth we couldn't convince him what its real value was. It sold the same day he put it for sale. I wouldn't take less than $5,000 for that boat if I were your father.

I priced the material to build a 20X5 flat all 3/16" with a sub floor and was looking at $5000 just for materials and about 2/3 that for the labor. Then add the price of a motor and trailer and you are up well over $10K.

No offense but that rig is not worth anywhere near 10k. I would advertise it for 6k OBO
