I was trying to bring my boat in to the Yamaha shop. Yeah there closed till next year. I will look at home. My motor on my old boat was a Yamaha 2 stroke.

yamaha oil, mercury oil, omc oil, even the cheap ones, as long as it is tcw3 it is all the same, but maybe check if academy has the yamalube

SaltyShaw 12-28-2011 04:42 PM

I know someone that uses the 2 stroke oil in a yellow jug from Academy on his V-Max and he has no problems with it.

Tightline11 12-28-2011 04:57 PM

I know if I wouldn't be so OD I would just go get some and be done, but I'm OD real bad and I have always used the yamaha products and wouldn't any fun if I got something else I do thank you for the suggestion

That's OCD and those suggestions are akkurite, it all come from 2 plants and tcw3 is the bible. Will never convince me there is a difference in 2 stroke erl.

Sea-Trac Offshore 12-28-2011 05:13 PM

Academy has Yamalube

LaAngler 12-28-2011 05:41 PM

premium plus from walmart would be fine

can't be any worse to use a different oil once than running it in saltwater is

Tightline11 12-28-2011 05:41 PM

Other people have OCD I have OD don't know the difference but when I find out I will let you know and I know it is probably all the same just the name on the bottle makes the difference for me.

Yammy oil is the same as quicksilver from academy..

"W" 12-28-2011 07:12 PM

yammylube = we going to get this sucker for 10 more dollars.......

If you have a empty jug of yammylube... I will fill it up with quicksilver and charge you yammy price ..... But it will have the name

Haha this is true....I've been running a generic 2 stroke outboard oil in my old FICHT for years instead of the $50.00 per gallon "special blend" they wanted me to buy (yes you read that right....I have a FICHT that actually works) and it is still running strong. If you can get past the namebrand, I'm sure your yammy won't mind, it's all the same stuff.

LPfishnTIM 12-28-2011 10:35 PM

I'd rather use quiksilver over any!

I only use citgo brand in my 2003 yammi. I would use something cheaper, but this is the cheapest brand I can find.
