Boat Blind?

I have a new 18X44 Alweld being built for me right now with a 35HP go devil. I had them add the non skid aluminum floors, extra support beam on the transom, hand rest, bilge pump and running lights.

They offered me a go devil boat blind but said it would take all day to install. I would like to have a blind for the boat for hunting in the refuge area but I would not want something that slowed the boat down or got in the way. Are there better options out there for this? Thoughts?

Also I am going by the refuge this week to get a copy of the rules but I have heard you cannot run an outboard in parts of the refuge, with a surface drive motor how do I handle that? Get a push pole? Get out and push it through? I assume a surface drive is also not allowed.

Bought one homemade one out of whatyamacallit and it didn't really slow me down just had to widen it a bit for mine and need to add a few more pieces of whojamadingers

If your talking about Sabine you can run a trolling motor, pole, or push the boat. I personally wouldn't use the boat blind, kinda sticks out but that's just my opinion. I would just hunt out the grass

I made one exactly like what Kibb is showing in his pics using tubing and bimini top hardware. cost under $100 for all. It's pretty simple.

My uncle hints on the south side of the highway in P.I. He builds blinds out there where he can pull his boat into them and anchor in between the blinds. Much easier than the bulky boat blinds

I agree......If you are going to hunt out of a boat in Sabine, you will probably not have much luck....You have to get in the grass AWAY from the boat....

It's a homemade blind made with 3/4 EMT and 7/8" bemini fittings. I just made it this past summer and have only been wading flooded timber so I haven't actually used it during a hunt. I mostly hunt in the woods so it should work fine for my scenario.

Thanks guys and yes I would be hunting over at Sabine. I have hunted there before we got in the grass, that worked well.
