A couple of fisherman, Jeremy and Elliott brought in some nice bass today in Henderson. A couple of them were in the 5 lb. range. Been getting good some reports on a few bass being caught and this was nice to see.

thanks for the report. I need to get out there soon

Sweet....heading there sunday. If you are there I will be in a blue duracraft with a 60 johnson. Looks like the lillys are slowly moving back in

BIGJ 01-27-2012 09:10 PM

Nice, good to see the bite is picking up.

The lillies depend on the wind. We still get a few patches now and again, but they are not bad on this end. The good thing about Kern's is that you have access via I-10 cut or the boulevard.

Gunna wait till the weather warms up again....didn't realize we had a dry cold front move in. Damnit!

yfd611 02-02-2012 06:37 PM

gave henderson a shot sunday despite the front. lillies at the landings scared me off. i didn't feel like dealing with them. wound up going to lake martin. no luck there.

Winds have moved the lillies out again as of yesterday (Friday). Spoke to Scott with the Wildlife and Fisheries who take care of the Henderson area. As of Jan.1st they took backover the spraying, which had been contracted out. Thank God, now we have someone we can work with again. They sprayed my area last week. Have had good results with the LAWF and Scott's help in the past. Look forward to continue working with them in the future.

Thanks for the update, we still have a group that wants to trek over your way... Just have to align the lillies and weather to pull it off !!!
