Big Lake winds too much for a 17 ft flat?

My son plans on going to big lake tomorrow (Saturday). He has a 17 ft aluminum allweld flat (duracraft) aluminum boat with a small V Hull and a 50 HP yamaha. Do you think the winds and waves would be too much if he lands at calcasiue point, makes his way to Turners, then goes south from there. If too much for this boat, can you recommend another place more suitable for a boat his size?

Guys, thanks for your help with this..

Sabine Lake-Calcasieu Lake-
Tonight
South winds 5 to 10 knots becoming west after Midnight. Lake waters a light chop.
Saturday
North winds 10 to 15 knots increasing to 15 to 20 knots in the afternoon. Lake waters choppy increasing to rough in the afternoon.

In other words, stay home. All the rain don't help the north end either.

He went out and not even a bite on the lake, but the water was very, very muddy. What causes the water to be so muddy... the high winds?
