Do ya'll cook it all at once? I use my grandma's method which is to boil then drain the cabbage, then mix it in with the onions, ham etc.. and "smother it"

Cabbage is an all time favorite of mine.
My grandparents are from Albany, Louisiana the hungarian settlement there.......cabbage was a mainstay........ Cabbage with dill sauce poured over it...... Oh hell yes. |

On of my favorite meals is cabbage and any kind of ground meat....esp Italian sausage.

If you are really a cabbage fan try this: First make a good cornbread in a cast iron skillet. Now cook your favorite chilli without beans in it. Now cut up a head of cabbage and add it to your chilli. You might need to add a little water also. LEt your cabbage steam in there. When ready cut you a hunk of cornbread and put it in a bowl and cover with chilli cabbage. Now that is good!

If I'm gonna serve sausage, I like to smother it in underwear gravy :smokin::rotfl:
