Washout

Today is a washout so I came in to work till noon. I'm trying to think of what to go home and cook. I'm thinking a pork stew or a vegetable-beef soup made with some brisket and fresh vegetables. ....thoughts?

Some good ol vegetable-beef soup sounds good. My ol grandma would always cook it, but I never learned how. You got a recepie you wouldn't mind sharing?

The more I think about it the more I'm leaning that way.

If I'd live any closer to the Lafayette area I'd be well over 300 pounds.

I like my spaghetti with some seven steak meat in it, my Paw Paw use to make that all the time and I'm saddened that mine never comes out close to as good as I remember his being.
Had Gumbo last weekend but this is the perfect weather for it.
I don't like a tomatoes based veg beef soup, i prefer the beef stock based one if you interested here's the link for the one I use..... http://www.nomenu.com/joomla1/index....ups&Itemid=214

Back strap and duck breast cream cheese halapino's wrapped in thick bacon strip's a few hol ducks stuffed fresh turnip's and a few link's of deer and pork sausage .All slow cooking on the jenn aire. Got a bunch of Mardi Gras goer's from Baytown in and told them I'd have the food ready when they got back. Might have make a last minute addition ; my favorite 15/20's on the stick based with ol dr. jack' famous pepper jelly.
HmmHmmm Good!!!!!

swamp snorkler 02-18-2012 12:04 PM

I could eat half my weight in Pepper Jelly on some fried pork chops.
