Lacassine pool water level

I just got back from checking the water level, and it looks great. It looks to be at or close to the level they usually hold it at with normal weather conditions. After I looked at the pool I drove to the bell city ditch and it's a raging mess rite now so pray for the rain to keep coming.

When you go through the gate and come to the tee where the old launch is to your right and the d unit and new launch are to your left straight in front is the section that got burned last year looks to have 4 to 6 inches on it. To my understanding it hasnt held water or looked like that in years should be interesting this year

That spot at the tee with the dock and parking in front of it had water about 4 years ago, even caught fish there on my way out.

Well there is a trail that runs though it several hundred yards in but now there's no grass line on the edge of the canal if you were on plane or had a mud motor you could run due west across that hole section of marsh now I doubt it will hold enough water to support many fish I'm sure some will get in it but you will see what I'm talkin about when you go out there

has anyone heard any information about them shocking i would find it hard to believe even if there was a fish kill that it deplinished the population much because it was already over populated according to the biologist and i also find it hard to believe that alligators would take that big of a tole on the population i know there is a bunch of gators but there was still water in the canals and those fish i feel would have survived now the fish stuck in the flats that did hold a little water but were sectioned off i can see them gettin over run by gators and hawks etc.

this is great news. guess I'll be hitting Laccasine a few times this trip home instead of bass fishing in big lake

Top Dawg 02-18-2012 10:15 PM

U would be suprised as to what gators could do to fish in a bottle neck.

BigChaf 02-19-2012 11:27 AM

News like that makes my day, thanks for the info.

In years past, what circumstances led to lowering the pool level ?

Thanks

noodle creek 02-19-2012 08:41 PM

i'm sure there are still fish in there but after looking at it back in november its hard to be optimistic

papap 02-19-2012 09:01 PM

j.e.hagen 02-19-2012 10:32 PM
