Marine Plywood
Anyone know where I can buy a sheet of marine plywood? I would prefer a 4 x 10 piece. I want to replace the floor in my alum boat.

Check with Robichaux Lumber in Raceland, La. I know its a haul but they have it.

I put treated in mine. Lasted 8 years. Just went back with another sheet of treated.

May want to check with Olmsted ship yard. Not sure if they would carry that or not.

Wouldn't 4x10 be hard to find? Do they even make it?

thanks, guys. Spoke with Stine's and all they have is 4x8. Also spoke with Max at Olmstede shipyard and he recommends I use standard exterior treated plywood as long as I waterproof it with either paint, laquer or thompsons water seal. This will definately be cheaper. I have decided to go with a 4x8 piece. The bottom of my boat is 9' but the old floor was only 8' and the front foot was left open and I put my batteries up there. So I will go with the 4x8 piece. I found some marine plywood online but it is $85 a sheet for 4x10 and shipping is almost that much.

That's the experience I had. They told me marine ply wood was pretty much expensive treated plywood.

Here's my new piece. I also sprinkled saw dust between coats and it added grip.

He checked with Robicheaux's and was told they no longer make sheets larger than 4X8 because the demand is not there anymore. I figured anything over 8' would cost an arm & Leg. Would consider decking floor in aluminum & being done with it

Look into MDO ( medium density overlay) it comes in lots of sizes and thicknesses . It is a plywood that is treated to be outside and you can order it with a paper type backing . This is what people use for outdoor signs to be painted ect... It holds up good

I thought they were still using Duraply with the paper face for plywood signs. Does the MDO hold up as well or is it just cheaper?
