Just a little over 8 months ago I put fingerling bass in my pond, approx 1 1/2" long & big around as a pencil. This what they look like now, this one was exactly 12". These are the F1's which is a cross between the Northern & Florida. They feed reel aggressive like the Northern & get almost as big as the Floridas. Can't wait for about the 3rd year!

Amazing they grow that fast. What do you have in the pond for them to eat? Can't wait to see what you have in a few years.

 Dang man!!!
	That's awesome!! |

Das pretty fast!!! Looks like you need a few of them grass carp too,to keep that grass down in the pond.

all of the F1's that were in the bass tank at the LC boat show were 2 years old. Had some really nice size to them. you should be really happy in another year or 2

I just stocked mine yesterday. I put 25 F1 bass, 300 coppernose, 200 other kind of bream, 400 catfish and 10 pounds of minnows. I like to have passed out when he told me I owed him $500 for a bunch of bait fish. We better have a buch of fish frys is all I can say. I did this 2 years before Rita came through and ended up losing them all.

$500:eek: mine weren't near that much. But I didn't put 400 catfish or 200 bream.

man how big are yalls ponds thats alot of fish i put 50 catfish 100 bream and like 5 pounds minnows

I got them from Dunns Fish Farm. I think it was the perch and catfish that ran the bill up. My bass were like 6 inches long and the catfish were 4-6 inches also.
I have a acre and half but it is full of points and stuff. The people at the farm recommended that ratio. They also didnt have to pay the bill is prolly Y they recommended it. |

I git some from Dunns also. I put 200 blue gill, 50 red ears, and 20 bass. My pond is about 1/4 acre. I stocked it about 18 months ago and the bream are almost big enough to eat. Bass are probably about 12 inches long.

Dunns didn't have the F'1s. I got them from Malones in Ark. All the rest I got from Dunns

I went with more of a catfish pond this time. The last time I stocked it I had a hard time catching the bass due to all the bream. I hope the catfish are easier for kids to catch!!
Does anybody else have that problem? |

When the bream are big enough to keep don't throw any of the small ones back & the same with bass. It's hard to do but needs to be done.
I won't ever put another catfish in my pond. My last place had a pond & was over run by catfish. Seemed you couldn't even thin them down! |
