Ok..my first question/thread...need advice

I'm looking for a used bay boat. Found one for sale..22 foot Blazer Bay with 200 HP Yamaha (2 stroke oil injection)..aluminum trailer..really good shape, you can tell it was taken care of.
Is $19000.00 a fair price..boat is a 2006 model...
Thanks in advance guys...
and btw, great board, I hope to get a chance to post quite a bit in the future.

Blazers are good boats...

mriguy 03-12-2012 12:19 PM

Sounds like a good deal to me. Big Mamou! Welcome to the Salty Cajun!

Yea thats sounds like a good deal what 200 yamaha? HPDI

Captain Mike P. 03-12-2012 12:48 PM

yep!!

Blazer makes a really good boat. Price sounds good, just get a compression check on the engine before you buy.. That 2 stroke is going to burn some fuel though...

southstadiumtiger 03-12-2012 01:02 PM

Thanks guys..figured it was a decent price...and yep it is HPDI..The two stroke does have me thinking about gas, but hell..at my, age burning gasoline is way down the line when it comes to worries, lol!

Montauk17 03-12-2012 01:05 PM

HPDI is not terrible on fuel....nothing compared to a carb 2 smoker. If you run it around 4,500 rpm's you should get around 5 mpg.

jldsc 03-12-2012 01:06 PM

Welcome to the SC, and that HPDI will do decent on fuel at crusing speeds.

That is a GREAT deal on that boat. If it is the one on LA Sportsman the 2220 Fisherman for $19,000.00 I would jump on it if the motor checks out. I have a 2005 Bazer Bay 2200 and wish I had the 2220 Fisherman. It is close to mine but a little nicer. The 2200 and 2220 have not changed in years. You could get a new boat and it will look almost the same as a 2005 boat.

Thanks IMO..it is the same boat. I appreciate all of the input, I've got the bank finishing up the financing and it looks like I'm gonna get back into inshore fishing...my wife loves it and has been on me to get another bay boat.

jldsc 03-12-2012 02:03 PM

betta jump on that before she changes her mind!!!

latravcha 03-12-2012 02:09 PM

I have a 06 2220 profesional with a 250 HPDI. So far I love the boat.
And yes the 19K price tag on that boat is not bad at all.

swamp snorkler 03-12-2012 04:00 PM

My neighbor has the same boat only a 2007 or an 08 model, not a bad boat at all. I find it to have more spray than normal. I wouldn't say it's the driest boat.

Tete Dur 03-12-2012 04:03 PM

I have an '06 200HP HPDI on a 22' Pathfinder. I get about 3-3.5 miles/gallon. It isn't that bad if you don't try to go W.A.O. all the time.

bluewing 03-12-2012 08:11 PM

22ft blazer bay professional with 250HPDI, getting 3.7 to 3.9 mpg all day long.

speck-chaser 03-12-2012 08:44 PM

2002, 22' pathfinder w/200 hpdi getting right about 4mpg. Course right now,Im getting extremely good gas mileage, cuz I havent had time to run it for a while.
