Always a good time in da Marsh

Went down to the east to help my "other" tournament partner scout for the upcoming HT Redfish Tournament. Hit an area that has been our "go to" area the last few years and water hasn't cleared up. But when we did find clean water we found a few fish in there and hungry. We buttoned one fish that was 26.5" and 8.5lbs on the boca and had other friends swimming with him. Several other studs in the pond but were not big concentration of numbers. Would be good for a 1 day tournament but wouldn't sustain 3 days. Hoping the fresh water comes in good the next few weeks and helps grow some vegetation then the area will be setting up really nice. Sorry for being vague but with his tournament upcoming, and Brady (boatdriver) and I headed there next month, we want to keep the background investigations to a minimum. Only shot a couple of pics at the start and end of day because I still don't know how to put down the rod and pick up the camera. Afterwards however, we had a lot of time due to us being stuck in the marsh, since the motor shorted and didn't want to crank back up.

Oh and Louisiana Wildlife Fisheries came and got us, after the Coast Guard sent the Sheriffs as our original rescue party. That's until the sheriffs ran aground and needed to be saved themselves. All in all I would do it again! Just more good times in the marsh!

Here are the pics. Fish were caught on swimbaits, gulp, and I even managed to sight fish a sheephead with a KVD Squarebill 1.0 crankbait.
