Roundup Max

Anyone here ever use Roundup Max? I bought a gallon jug of concentrate & mix it in a 15 gal sprayer & use it on my property, problem is if I have a gallon or 2 left over & it sits for a month or 2 it gels up or gets these thick stringers that clog up my screen in the tank & is basically useless:pissed:. Is there any other herbicide that won't do this:confused: Crap is $85 a gallon:eek:

dont know where you live but go to your local farm supply and get some cornerstone plus. its the generic of roundup and works just as good. best part is its 40 bucks for 2 gallons. almost all herbicides will gel up when left mixed with water. best thing to do is drain your tank and store it in some sort of container.

I'll check for it. Have a Co-op & Tractor supply close. What do you do with it if you drain tank into a container & it gels up? Trash it?

Find a neighbor you don't like and empty the container in their front yard......had some kids do that to me one time. They spelled a nice 4 letter word with rock salt. The wife was pissed but I laughed....thought it was a great idea....lol.

there are several brands to use that do same as Roundup and are way cheaper, look into Honcho, Killzall and there are others that you will find at feed stores in a 2-2.5 gallon for around $40 now the problem you are having with it gelling is due to the surfactent which is soap and you want that in there to make it stick to the grass better so best thing is make what you need and use it all or just pour out what you don't use.

when your ready to use it again add a lil more chemical and water and when you put the water in make it foam to mix it up.

2-4-d is also cheaper, works well too

I mix Roundup and 2-4-D, 3oz of each per gallon.

2-4-d is good stuff but its for broadleaf plants and Roundup or generic is good for grassy leaf, I mix the two almost everytime I spray because most places that you spray will have both types of vegetation. You can actually take 2-4-d and spray a yard to kill the weeds (won't kill augastine and other ornamental grasses) out of it, that's what weedandfeed is made of basically.

Correct, I should have mentioned it was a supplemant to Round-Up.

I remember a friend of mine of mentinoning to me that the patent on Roun-Up ran out and more people would be making it.
