16.98 lbs. is nice sized pair of Reds.

PUREBAY2200 03-23-2012 12:30 PM

That area ( Delacroix / hopedale) usually takes 16.5 -17 to win.
3 summers ago Charlie Thomason & Shane pescay weighed in 19 lbs and 21 lbs for the first 2 days; then lost in the 3 rd day by .25 oz.
That was the oberto redfish cup; which I'd now gone I believe.

Oberto Cup came to Lake Charles the same year Katrina hit.
Was supposed to be in Fla., but Katrina was going thru there,
so they moved it to Lake Charles.

That tournament was out of Biloxi (30" slot max), they ran back to DelaCroix. But big fish in that area.

RigRatNoMeaux 03-23-2012 09:28 PM

Even with the weather this morning and yesterday, the fish were hungry!! Caught between 60-75 reds in two days of fishing. The first day we found some fat fish but we only found either 24 inchers or 30 inchers. I will have a full report soon. Make sure to check it out because we had a lot of good, bad and ugly happen to us since we got down here last Friday!!
