Larto Lake - 3/23 & 3/24

Had an awesome time at Larto Lake this past weekend! We didn't catch a whole mess of fish but we had enough for 11 of us to eat supper with a little bit of leftovers. Caught just about all of 'em on hair jigs & tube jigs, didn't catch many on shiners and wasted our time trying to catch a few bream on crickets. Set out a couple dozen yo-yo's with shiners and caught a few catfish and sac's on there as well. We mainly fished around the island in the lake, hitting around the cypress trees, submerged stumps/trees/branches, and we tried a few of the bayous off the lake but had very little success. Found a couple that had some really nice water but were pretty much fishless. Guess it didn't help that the lake is 3' higher than normal right now with all the rain that pounded the area in the last couple weeks. Spoke with a few other people out on the water and it seemed like nobody was doing well at all. We'll definitely be making another trip that way.
