What about a jack plate????

Thinking of a 21 frontier and asked about certain motors but wondering if a jack plate is worth it? Trying to figure out what to spend money on? Thanks in advance for any help

What are you looking to get performance wise?

I guess I'm not really sure. This will be the first boat I own. I have been around boats and fished for years but really never had to make the decisions.

Jack plate will let your motor run in "cleaner" water and allow you to raise it a little more. Other than that, nothing really that I know of.

I run a 210 Frontier, I am thinking of trim tabs. They will help you get up in shallower water, trim out the boat for loads and put the nose down in rough water.

Yes I was gonna do trim tabs but didn't know if the jack plate would make it run faster or what

I added a jack plate last year. It has been money well spent. Adding a trolling motor on the front end and a jack plate on the rear makes your boat much more versatile. Now I am able to slip in and out shallow bayou and back lake mouths to access more water. I can't say I have any performance enhancement. If you have the means to add one and you intend on keeping the boat, I highly recommend it.
