I don't know if you're serious or not but that's the first thing I thought of when I thought of yak fishing.

Nice, you see any of those huge gators, i would never get in a yak overthere!!!

bgizzle 04-05-2012 10:02 PM

I saw 4. From 6-12' they don't mess with me one. It's the brown recluse's that I was worried bout I saw a crap load of them and they can swim

That is one nice yak. Been yaking in every gator infested body of water in south la and had not had a real problem with any yet. Actually a pissed off snake is more of a threat, try to keep one from getting in the yak.

wetaline 04-06-2012 10:26 AM

That's where I go in my yak. if you get real still, the gators come up right next to the yak. Have to watch out also for the water moccasins. they like to sun on the wood duck boxes around the lake and will strike if you come too close.

bgizzle 04-06-2012 10:30 AM

Mos definately! Them gators would hit the water before I got 40-50' from them. They see ppl all the time as long as they don't get fed by humans they won't distinguished you as food

Duck Butter 04-06-2012 01:23 PM

Was out there at daylight yesterday and you could hear 2 male gators growling by the rookery

By-Catch 04-06-2012 08:18 PM

Not far out of the public launch at Butte La Rose I fed a gator half my sandwich one day and every time after I would throw him something to eat. He would then look for me and follow me all around that area.

bgizzle 04-06-2012 09:47 PM

Thats crazy y'all gonna get my killed mane!!!!
