What is the agerage trout weight caught

Can someone give me an idea as to what the average weight you guys catch as far as trout go.
Do you ever go over #8 or is this a common size?
If i were to post up a contest what size would i want someone to beat to win.

An 8 lber would be a formidable foe....especially for the next couple of months.

Depends on who you ask, See me, I catch 9 lbers like they going out of style...W catches .57 oz. trout like mad ;) :smokin:

Billystix contest

Well i guess i best up the anty to #10 if i am going to have a contest.
What i had given thought to was to the first "billystix rod owner" that catches a #8 trout i would offer up a nice prize but at this point the comp would kinda limited so i might need to open it to just any one what say ya guys.

You would need an "honest" weighmaster for that contest.

You set it at 10#...you ain't likely to get any bites.

ya bro id do 7-8 lbs. 10 lbs....thats kinda outta this world.

jpeff31787 09-14-2009 05:34 PM

i think an 8lb trout would be best fit for your trying to accomplish.. or to make it more interesting try 8.5lb, but still 8 is a challenge in itself.. i've never caught over a 5 and i'm on the water every weekend. My dad did catch a 6 last weekend and we witnessed a 7 though
