This is the last Kolher I will have, every machine I have had before was Kawasaki gas or Kubota diesel and I put 500-1000 hrs on them with no issuebut I bout this and have been through head baskets and now its blown:pissed:

When they say make sure it has gas and oil. That doesn't mean add gas and oil in the gas tank like a two stroke. You actually have to check the earl. :-)

You know I take better care of my stuff then probably anyone you know, when a motor only last 150 hrs and it don't call for oil change but every 100+ hrs mine gets changed twice a yr.... I would buy a Briggs Stanton before I bought a Kolher again

Just called the shop and they are putting a 30hp Briggs commercial v-twin for $1700 with 3yr warranty, beats the crap out of that Kohler trash that was $3500 for a 25hp and only 2yr warranty

I currently have a 7y/o Exmark and it is on it's 2nd engine. The hour meter has stopped working on it at 953 hrs. The engine was replaced at 700 hours by a friend of mine that owns a grass buisness. Although it has been good to me, I will never own another Kohler powered machine (snow blower, power skate board, ...nothing!!!) For not having any major issues with it, I really don't like it and routinely put 1/2 to 3/4qts of oil in it after cutting my yard just once or twice. Does not smoke, so the oil is escaping somewhere. Now, my next one will be a Exmark, but will have a different power plant.
