Had a pretty good trip out to henderson last week on the north side . caught all fish all black/ch tube jigs with crappie nibblets ., they were tearing them up . fishing about 2 1/2 to 3 feet with cork . Around cypress trees . fish till about 1:30 pm . good trip .

What a great catch....tell me a little about these fish...what kinda fish are they (looks like 2 different species), are they bony, do you fillet them, how big do they get, they scrappy, what kinda gear (rod & reel) do you use to fish them, are they tasty, are they that plentiful everywhere.

thanks , actully theres 4 different kind of fish in the picture , there some white perch , bull bream , chicks ,and goggle eye . you can filet them if they big enough but if not you can just gut them an scale em an fry . i use light tackle to fish them it makes the catch more fun with light action .an yes the are very good to eat especially the white perch . thanks

White perch or sacalait south of I-10 are in my opinion the best eating fish there is. The meat is pretty and white and just the right texture. Sacalait in Cajun French means sack of milk. If u ever get the chance to try them, I wouldn't pass it up.

We have perch here but they are full of bones and there isn't anyway of getting them out as they seem to be all through the meat. They are also white meat but way too bony to eat. We get them outta fresh water and they are a yellow color, not sure what species they are as never bothered to look them up as we just can;t get rid of the bones.
