smell coming from fridge

I have a fridge/freezer in my garage, yesterday when i opened the garage there was a strange smell. It seems to be coming from behind the fridge. Its smells pretty strong kinda like varnish or something like that, definately not food or anything. Its still working fine, im stumped

Might be a relay sticking causing a ozone like smell. Turn thermostat down til compressor shuts down, wait 5 minutes, turn t-stat back up and listen for
the compressor to start. It should start up smooth and easy, if it tries to start
then shuts down and tries to start you start relay is going bad. Easy to repair.

Also check your drip pan. They are self evaporating now. The return coil runs throuch the pan heating up the liquid and evaporating it. Could have had some juice form something run through the drain and now it is cooking in the drip pan.

Freezer door was left open a few years back and we were gone for the weekend. took me a week to figure the pan out and puked several times while cleaning it.
