Can't See Me

I've had many requests to paint a lure with a duck hunting pattern. I thought about it for some time but never really tried. Last week Chicken asked me about painting a lure for him as a "keepsake". He axt about duck hunting. So, I started thinking about it, but, never could come up with a pattern that would incorporate duck hunting, but, still catch fish.....until, I looked at a pic of a drake mallard. Here's what I came up with.

It's a Saltyclad wrap. ;) I got the pic off the interweb and made the wrap.

Here's the first one I did just to see if it would even work.

mossy oak duck blind would look good on a bait

are you gonna clear the whole thing?

Salty 06-14-2012 02:22 PM

There are some neat patterns on the interweb that they call "camo". I found a lime green one last night that I'm gonna maybe try.

They have a coat of Devcon epoxy and 4 coats of Dupont Chroma clear. They don't look shiny? ;)

No different than out of the box. That jerk is loaded with rattles and tracks very true. No doubt they'll catch trout.

Can you post a pic of that "duck blind" stuff?

SULPHITE 06-14-2012 02:28 PM

yellow green white grey......sorry you just piqued my interest...duck hunting and fishing...i'm in.
