No Boat - No Idea - Need Hollybeach advice

Boat is in the shop and using a camp in Holly Beach this weekend. Going no matter the weather is with my son.

What to throw & where to go? Never been there so hoping to catch something. I think there are rock off the beach but not sure.

Can you crab in the surf?

Thanks

Friend went today and beach is very muddy with a ton of sea weed. Might want to concentrate in reds, sharks or crabs.

If you fish the muddy surf, use some shrimp on the bottom and you'll probably catch some channel mullet/whiting, reds and drum to eat. (I'm sure some hardheads too). if you catch something small, put it on a hook and you may get you a bull red or shark

People crab the surf all the time. Just bring a couple of sticks to anchor main line parallel to the shore, and make a crabbing trotline, with a main line and several drops off of it with bait on em.

Just a 5 minute drive north there are plenty of spots to crab of the beach is nasty.

Yep. Crab at West Cove canal.

caught a few specks (one was 4lbs) last week on a glow and chartreuse queen cocahoe minnow. The water was chocolate milk but there was not nearly as much Cuban Hydrilla in the water last week as there is now. Also caught a pair of black tips on live croakers.
