Transducer installation

I ordered a through hull transducer for my new HDS7
Any suggestions for installation?

See if you boat has a certain location to install it. Some manufacturers have these in the hull. If not, install it as far back in the bottom of the hull as you can. If your hull has "steps" in the back, be sure it is in the lowest point possible.

Which transducer did you get?

I bought the Lowrance B60 with a 12* tilt

Finding a flat, secure spot to put it in your hull will be the hardest part. Other than that it relativley simple to install.

That is why I went with one with built in tilt.
I had problems when I mounted it on the step. I would not get a reading when I was up and running because of the air bubbles coming off the hull. this time I will mount it on the V part of the hull.
