ungreatful people

Well as I was pumping gas earlier a guy approached me askin for money, the typical im hungry and need food thing. Well im a sucker for donating money and for trying to help others, I would want somebody to help me if I needed it and was in that situation. Well it just so happened I had like a dollar and some change in my pocket. So I said yea here ya go and handed him the money.turns out ehen youre broke homeless and starving a dollar and change isnt good enough. The guy turns around and is like come on man I need more then this..... I know you can do better......I dont know what caused it but something about that just really pissed me off so I told him you know what youre right, I can do better. So I asked for my money back and put it back in my pocket then proceeded to tell him I could've done nothing at all. And to go find someone else who has better money.well that pissed him off and then he decided to talk some trash then left with nothing rather than a little bit of something.im not rich but I get by and if somebody was to hand me a free dollar I wouldnt decline it. Especially if im hungry broke amd homeless, the nerve of some people

I usually name a few places that are hiring. They hate that.

I've offered several of them tax paying jobs at my shop. It's ended every discussion!

I have on two occasion handed over a few bucks in a similar situation. Both times the person walked into the store and came out with beer. Never again. I stopped for gas in Slidell not long ago and a woman with kids asked me for some money for gas so she could take one of the kids to the doctor. I told her to pull up to the pump and I would pump enough gas to get her there, but she drove off. These folks have ruined it for someone who may need help.

My aunt saw a guy on the side of the road with the "will work for food" sign, she turned in to McDonald's and bought like 10 $1 burgers and gave them to him. When she drove off she saw him throw them on the street!!!! That cured her from being generous!

shoulda sprayed him with the gas pump! by accident of course;)

I had a helper that every opening weekend of trawling season would get a little gallon bucket and ride down the bayou. he would stop and ask everybody for a little mess of shrimp to take his kids fishing (they were in the truck). He told me it would take him about an hour or 2 and he would have a full 60 quart ice chest of shrimp because everyone would just fill his bucket. He said the trick was when you asked for a some to pull your wallet out, most of them wouldn't take your money. That pretty much ruined for me ever giving him anything.

I spent last week in New Orleans for training, hotel was in the Quarter. To my amazement I didnt get asked for money one time. this was a first. Did have a homeless guy ask for a smoke from me and that was fine. N.O. is usually the worst!

That's because they don't ask down there. :shaking:

When i see them coming, i put my hand in my pocket like im grabbing for some cash......when they get close enough, I ask them for a dollar cause im a little short.......

They get a very perplexed look on their face, and not 1 has ever had a reply

duck enticer 06-19-2012 01:38 PM

I never give money. I am a realist and know what these guys/gals are going to do with the money.

I have and will continue to bring them to Burger King/Mc Donalds, sit down with them, buy them a meal, and pray with them.

People that are begging for money are looking for and need change. A life of addiction is a short lived one, either in death or Jail. If you are Christian, show them the unconditional love of Jesus. Who knows, in the future that person might come to the Lord. At least they will know it in his name.

Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it. Hebrews 13:2

On a side note. A guy came up to me at work the other day. He asked if I could give him $7 bucks for a bed from the Salvation army. I told him I would go to Salvation army to buy a bed for him.....Just that I would go after lunch and to meet me there in about 30 minutes. He got all mad and said don't do me like that. Don't tell me you are going to be there and not go. I told him to trust me. Well, I showed up at Salvation army, but he didn't. I called his bluff, the cheapest bed at Salvation army was $79.

Ive done that before. One time in Atlanta I must have really suprised the guy cause he actually gave me around 70 cents lol. Back in my younger days I used to tell the bums in downtown Lafayette I would give em $10 if I could kick em in the nuts. Never got taken up on that offer

RaginCagin 06-19-2012 01:52 PM

The best trick is when you see someone coming to you that you think will ask for money is right when they get to you ask them for a dollar first. I always do this and they say "Man i was jus fixin to ask you da same thing." and they usually leave.

thats good for that SOB!

Last month I was on my way back from walmart and I noticed a homeless man holding a sign that he was hungry and broke, so I pulled off to the side and offered him a loaf of bread and some sandwich meat. Well the no good SOB said all I want is money... SOB is just gonna have to starve if thats how is going to be. I drove off and flicked him the finger, stupid *** could of had food for a week, he screwed that up. I now see him just about every day on the way from walmart and I still stick him the finger.
