Need a little advice....
 

I was given a Penn Delmar 285 reel... The woman that gave it to me said it was here fathers and he passed in 1960..... It is still in the box I have add the line hoping to use it when I get my boat. Anyone know the value of this one I have.... It has never been close to the water before.

Used on e-bay going for $20 to $30.
Unused w/box and all other things that came in a new box going for $45 to $60.
Search e-bay and then check the completed listings on the left panel for this information.

EBay says $35 - 60

It's not bad for moving a dresser 6 inches for her... I will check on it...

Box and paperwork..........................I would look for a collector looking to add to his collection - Google reel collector and see if you can find a couple of websites they frequent with a classifieds section. Or you could just use the thing and tell all your buddies about it. Or you could display it as an antique yourself.

I wish I had kept more old stuff from my grandparents that ended up in the garbage just to show my kids.

I also have the tool that came with it. I was offered 50 for the box alone I am not looking to sell I just want to know what I have got... I also have a 1947 Abu Garcia on a 48 lew's rod... I do use that one and it works just as good as a brand new one...
