Mechanic in Moss Bluff?

My wife's '03 Tahoe is making a funny vibration noise and the check engine light came on yesterday.

Does anyone have an suggestions for mechanics in Moss Bluff?

Check the add in the phone book. Ace Automotive over on Hwy 171 did good on fixing my daughter's A/C. I think they fix lots of things on cars.

Run to auto zone and have them read the code on the computer. It will tell you why the check engine light is on. It's free. Might be something you can fix yourself. Save you some money.

Is the vibration coming from inside the engine or kind of underneath the truck?

x2 I prefer orileys cause their prices are cheaper..still free to test. Thought I was having transmission probs, turned out my #8 sparkplug wasn't firing. Crazy shaking at
40 mph.

sounds like underneath the truck but not totally under the engine.

sounds like an exhaust problem... maybe catalytic convertor going out or an exhaust leak. That kind of stuff will make your check engine light come on for sure. I would follow the suggestions and get a free diagnostic run but you might also bring it by a muffler shop and get them to look at it. Any reputable muffler place wont charge you to take a look at it.

ok, after a trip to Advanced Auto parts to determine it was a catalytic converter problem went to Bentley's on Country Club since i was in lake charles. Confirmed catalytic converter problem and sent me to Meineke on Prien Lake. They again confirmed catalytic converter and put me a new one one in less than an hour. $272.00 total damage. Back on the road. Also called Ace in Moss Bluff and they said Meineke too!
Thanks, everyone!
