They aren't cheap but for your build (assuming that's what it's for) I believe it would be top notch

I have a $100 Honeywell that does basically the same thing except the 'learning' part. It's 7 day programmable and has wake, leave, return, sleep settings for each day if you choose. It adjusts the timing of your setting to start cooling or heating the house down so it will be at the temperature you set it at the time you set it. I don't touch the thermostat at all anymore, except when we are going to have a big party or to change from heat to cool.

I'm kinda scared of the learning part . Almost like it decides when to make it cold ect, I wonder if you can over ride it? Also the over down side is I need 5 because my house is going to be in a harmony zoning kit . I have a high dollar programmable thermostat and have found that my electric bill is lower when I just set it at a temp and leave it.

Maybe I don't have enough AC to recover in a timely manner for the temp difference. I tried making adjustments for a few years before I found the sweet spot....which is to leave it alone.

Every AC man I talk to tells me this.

I leave mine on 74 all day. I use to keep my house at 70. Over the past few months we have been gradually raising it up. I decided instead of putting a sheet and blankets on the bed with the ac on 70, to take off the 2 blankets and sleep with just a sheet with the ac on 74.

Sorry but this sounds a lot like the old man next door, " Hey you kids get off of my lawn!" ;)

That thing sounds too dang complicated!! Man, my stick on the wall and 77 deg. is enough for me...That's just me though and, yes, I am a tightwad!

If it weren't for my wife, it would be set on 80 at all times!

first off i know for a fact nearly every a/c contractor over tons new houses. for that reason i had my system for my new home designed by a engineer who specalizes in hvac. we are going slightly under ton from what ar****ect/ havc contractor said to do . i will be using variable spped furance and a 2 stage condenser unit with a 16 seer rating . this way we will be able to remove more humidity from my home by slowing down the fan but having it run more often due to under tonnage . i also am having them install a PCO air cleaner on both units, my hvac contractor told me htis air cleaner works so good that if you light a perfumed candle in your home while the system is running you will not smell it ! my goal is to be able to tweek my system and fine tune it to make it as efficent and comfortable as possible

Good luck, i have watched those fancy setups stump a many a A/C Techs...problem is most techs arent smart enough to figure out/trouble shoot these systems. Heard a trane tech suggest the wireless(iphone compatible) thermostat, then say he couldnt tell you how to operate it.
