Basin - Crew Boat Chute

The wife and I spent about 8 hours yesterday until after dark in Crew Boat Chute in the Atchafalaya Basin.
We fished KVD crankbaits and spinnerbaits in white and wh/blue/chart. We caught one or two on these baits but, we didn't really start catching until I switched to the copperhead bandit worm which is a copy of the Culprit mocassin worm.
We wound up catching about 20 under 14 inches and 2 keepers over 14 inches.

Sounds like fun. I'm glad you were able to dial in on them.

Thanks for the report.

We caught the most fish beginning at about 4:00 PM and they quit biting at around 8:00 PM.
According to the river stage at Chicot Pass (out of Myette Point in the main channel) the tide was falling at that time.
I think the tide in the Basin at these low river stages has an effect on when the fish are biting.
That's just a theory.
