1860 jon boats

ive been eye balling them for a while and am definitely considering making the jump from my 1648. does anybody have one? what kind of performance are you getting? im looking into one with a 50-60hp. id be happy with around 30-35mph. i always have a light load.it will mainly be a bayou/marsh boat.

You should get those speeds. I had a 20ft tunnel hull with a mega on the back and with me, another person, and fishing gear it ran 36

And my buddy has a 20 ft tunnel with a stock tohatsu 40 and it runs around 32-33 with 2 or 3 people and a light hunting load

are those boats 36-48" bottoms?

cmcnabb 08-07-2012 01:15 PM

mine was 36, his was 42. STAY AWAY from 36. I hated mine

Keywest18 08-07-2012 01:45 PM

oh i never plan on getting a 36" bottom. the boat im looking at has a 60" bottom. i like my 1648. but with the large front and rear deck its not open. i want something bigger with more room so i can start bringing my kids

What ever you do just go with a all welded boat and if you have the funds splurge for a boat right

I know what you mean about more room. My next boat will be a custom built boat so I can have an open floor plan

i dont mind it.for myself, but i want my boys to be able to move around to keep them occupied. im lookim at a plain jane grizzly or xpress right now. good size front deck and a bench i n the back so its really open. amd 24" sides should be really safe for th kids

My grandpa has an Alumacraft that's that size with I think 60 zuki and its real nice

Keywest18 08-07-2012 05:06 PM

Console but its not a big one like a bass boat, its the one you sit on back bench to run..... I wouldn't mind having it in a center console setup

Keywest18 08-07-2012 06:42 PM

i would love a center console like the xpress xp18cc, but i dont think that would have enough room incase they wanted to move around. im gonna have.to get them out on mine and see how they do

weedeater 08-07-2012 06:52 PM

Take them to Lake Area Marine and let them crawl around one and see, center console gives more room to walk around and more room to fish but make sure you have enuff motor..... Xpress is nice and you can get a good setup for decent price

Keywest18 08-07-2012 07:08 PM

if i go to Lake Area Marine im gonna be the one crawling and playing in the boats. im gonna check a few different setups out. i see alot of duck hunters run them with tiller which would be nice. but a.center console would help me not take a beating

What's your price range

weedeater 08-07-2012 07:22 PM

I won't buy another tiller unless its for marsh, I am tired of having my back beat up and me being worn out from doing something I enjoy

cmcnabb 08-07-2012 07:22 PM

If you want more room, I would stick with a tiller

coastalobsession 08-07-2012 07:29 PM

Tillers are also fun to driver.

im not real sure. this will be my first "new" boat. i have to make sure the kids and "wife" like it and see what my payments will be on it.

I have a 1756 tracker grizzly with a side steering console and a yamaha 50hp four stroke. Think i top out about 34 or 35 by myself, 32 or so loaded down. I can fish three people very very comfortable, and thats with a big ice chest across the front, butted up to the front deck, another ice chest along the right side in front of the console, and still enough foom on the right side in front of the console for a bait bucket, tackleboxes and such.

You should be good with an 1860, BUT the trackers are THIN metal and I have all kinds of cracked welds on my boat, all internal, but still...
