Ak 47 ?

I'm looking hard at em and have decided Ima get one. I have never owned an ak only ar 15...I'm not interested in spending 1000 bucks on a saiga or higher end ones. I'm told I can get one that shoots straight and goes boom every time...I have my eye on an M+M m10 model but not set on it yet also I've heard the WASR 10's are a much better made gun now than before....any pointers help or suggestions to look for before buying are appreciated....

The polish ones r well built, they were used by paratroopers and have a under folding stock which is neat

I reccomend you get a drum clip with it lol

Hopedale Hustler 08-14-2012 01:54 PM

Deff getting the drum mag...really looking for opinions on the wasr 10

Lake Chuck Duck 08-14-2012 02:06 PM

That is the WASR 10 in the pic. Shoots good. Stock is a little short for me to shoot on the shoulder comfortably. Guess thats why they always hip fire them lol. Other than that its a sweet shooter.

Hopedale Hustler 08-14-2012 02:27 PM

The gas tube and sights were all straight on it when you got it I heard that's a problem

Lake Chuck Duck 08-14-2012 02:34 PM

To be honest its not mine, but I shoot it all the time. I've never seen or heard of a problem with it.

It's like I'm a kid before Christmas everytime I intend on purchasing a new firearm

Personal Opinion Stick with the Soviet Bloc Manufactured AK's. I bought a Romanian manufactured one in Baton Rouge, it works like a damn charm, never had a problem with it. If the Soviets got one thing right, it was the AK.

kcinnick 08-16-2012 11:31 AM

AK sights suck, look into getting a set of tech sights.

I wound up buying a bare bones WASR 10 for 500 bucks from a gun show...I hand picked the one I wanted it had 0 mag wobble no canted sights or has tube and the good g2 trigger...I then completely tore it down and re built it the way I wanted it including internals....all for a total under 1000 bucks and I love it...this is the finished product....

Only thing I want to do diff is optics I want a eotech and I'm gonna mount I to the rear....I also bought a polish ak from my buddy for 200 bucks who was in a bind and this gun shoots much smoother than it to me...people hate wasr 10s because of their old rep but the stock since 2009 ish-2010 has been great.....I'm now working on my at build.
