Power Pole Questions

I am about to purchase a Power Pole. I would like some input as to if I should add the wave pak wave absorber option. I fish half my time on mud bottoms and half reef. Is this a necessary option for rough/windy conditions.

Thanks in Advance
Ryan

Look into a talon. They go straight down. They are not hydrolic like power poles. So no mess if it leaks. And they are dettachable. Also they are bout 300$ less. They have good strong bracket on them to.

I use a power pole on a 24' nautic star and on my 21' nautic star . I dont have the wave pack ,and see no problems yet . I honestly dont know of anyone who has it on thiers .
Talon may be cheaper but I think I rather an oil leak mess than one of those . I dont think the talon is all its cracked up to be in my opinion.

I would definitely suggest the remote control. I cheaped out when I got mine and went without. A few months later I went ahead and upgraded. I would ne'er have another boat without one.

The new power pole pro series come with remotes now.

I've never heard of somebody that really liked the talon. I've had a powerpole for 4 or 5 years and have never regretted it

I dont have the wave pak on mine and ive never had mine not hold but my boat is only 18'. Stick with your plan to buy power pole over talon. The diffrence in price is more than worth it. Talon= junk!!!!

Btw I don't have a wave pack and I had it on a 18.5' Kenner and now on a 24' triton. I've only had a problem a couple times with the triton staying stuck on a reef

I have been having my power pole for about three years and never had the wave pack and have never had a problem with it sticking. As far as the Talon I fish with a person that has one and he hates it and it always gives him a problem.

I have a talon on my 18ft boat and have had no trouble with it. I am sure the power pole is better(never used one) but i like the talon with remote it does the job for me

I had a 8' pp on my old boat ...loved it
I have a 10' pp on my new boat .... Love it

Only thing I don't like is when fishing the beach or gulf sides of the islands close to the beach the swell lift the boat and it's hard to stay pinned . I'm considering buying the wave pack . I would say if the extra cost won't hurt ya go for it , but it is a add on so you could always add it later unless it's a new boat and your trying to roll everything into the note

We have a talon on ours and have no problems with it. Sticks great and no problems with remotes.

Power Pole the only way to go!! Customer service is fantastic!!! I have the original power pole...had to replace stinger and replaced bolt kit. All the replacement parts were free of charge!! PP stands behind their product.

I had the same experience with their customer service. They are top notch

Power Pole

I've got the 8' PP on a 224 BlackJack and no wave Pak. I've had no problems in just over a year of use. I'm not the most gentle person on equipment and I have yet to even need to contact their customer support. If I had to do it all over again, the PP would be my choice.

I've been thinking about the PP too. Not to hijack, but how high does the 10' PP stick up above the transom? I keep my boat under a cover, and I want to make sure I have clearance.

I have a new unused wave pack... who wants it? Say first $75 gets it. PM me!
