Calcasieu/Cameron schools

Schools closed tomorrow, Wed due to Issac

jchief 08-28-2012 01:54 PM

And Allen Parish

Why did they close school in Cal parish...I can see Cameron with surge but Lake Charles will likely not even get a drop of rain ????

You know how parents complain these days with any kind of weather. You remember over the winter we were "suppose" to have a freeze and every body freaked out and they closed schools because people didnt think their kids were safe?

I guess that's is one of many reason why we are miles behind China

inchspinner 08-28-2012 02:32 PM

Because if your child was walking to or from school in 20-40mph winds and a tree falls and kills them, well you know the rest.....10yrs ago, get to walkin now its about safety and money...

They closed schools down so everyone that wants to head out of harms way can do so early, not everyone wants to wait out the storm in their homes and especially a trailer house. Its called precautions, the weather people have not had a clue about this storm, it keeps shifting, etc. Get a clue 'W', there is so much more to this world than Big Lake and you, I thought that once you had a kid you would actually grow up, but...nevermind sorry for the rant

LMAO...OK...zero effects on SW La but ok

"W" 08-28-2012 02:49 PM

But real reason I asked was because Cal parish is not even In the cone , so I was just wondering why would they close school...

I wonder if Sabine and Orange are closing also

Why close Cameron Schools? A negaitve tidal surge will make the water level to low to take boats to school?

the cone has been all over the place the last few days, just because you are not in the cone does not mean the effects can not get to you, hurricanes spawn tornadoes and heavy rainfall as well ie flooding, etc

Duck Butter 08-28-2012 02:58 PM

why bring home all the offshore workers that were not in the cone?:smokin:

Guess you don't know much....there are plenty of guys still offshore on the western side of the gulf

Talked to a buddy offshore today in the West Cameron Block who is not coming in....I would say parts of Vermillion Block West are all still offshore with skeleton crews

And the cone has not been all over the place....for the most part they have been dead on once it hit gulf waters ...off less than 100miles

huntin fool 08-28-2012 03:27 PM

Same reason they closed your home parish waltrip.

SULPHITE 08-28-2012 03:47 PM

thank you! They closed jeff davis parish schools before cameron parish.

huntin fool 08-28-2012 04:11 PM

They close Jeff davis, then cameron, then south beau high for sure, then calcasieu. Waltrip you know you were just as excited as all the kids are when you were a kid when school closed.

So you agree that there are people offshore that were evacuated that were NOT in the cone? The answer is yes

Dead on = 100 miles?:rotfl: 'They' still are not 'dead on', the hurricane was going to ruin the Rep Nat'l Convention in Tampa do you remember that? Have you seen your models earlier in this thread? Its been all over the place, much like you:rotfl:
