Grand Isle?
 

Anyone been down to the island latly?Heading down there friday morning to try and catch a few.just wondering if all of the launches and stores have reopened.

Just got back today after checking on my camp that is under construction.

GI did well despite 2 days of Isaac sitting on it.

Power is on. Bridge side was open but traffic was light. Did not get to Sand Dollar, but Gulf Stream was open. LA 1 did partially wash out (between Fourchon and GI) in a few spots so you might have to wait a few minutes in the small sections where it is one lane as the crews work on repairs and clean up.

Elmers got hit pretty bad with some washout to the gulf that can be seen from the Bridge. The Caminada washout inside the pass is ~3x the size pre-Isaac.

Beach looked good mid island and the burrito held.

Starfish is open and Megan's looked open. SureWay is open and stocked.

I did not fish, as it was a recon mission on the new camp and clean up at my Mom's camp. Minimal impacts from Isaac.

Glad to hear things are up & running. I'm way past due for a GI trip.

Elmers will be down quite a while. Oil mats and tar balls washed up on the beach and the whole thing is closed per LDWF. may open this winter .may be spring.

I am heading down with a couple folks to work tomorrow and Thursday. I will take plenty of pictures and report back. Our 'office' down there got some water damage and my coworker who lives on the island had some roof damage.

Megans was open last week, Camardelle's Bait and Seafood should be open by this Thursday or Friday with live bait and boiled crabs / shrimp, Bridgeside is open and has minnows and croakers. Go on down and get you some...

Any oil on the beach at Grand Isle?

Some oil on GI beach - most of beach is open - think it may be closed by the state park and behind Bridgeside but not sure.
