They are whiter meat than Redfish, but just as hard to clean.
I never throw them away. My wife and I love them.

Find a a barnacle covered pilon and throw a shrimp tipped jig head under a cork right up against it

DUCKGOGETTER 09-22-2012 03:03 PM

Sheephead some good eating

Garfish 09-24-2012 09:10 PM

I likes! Ole convict fish are goooood but will wear a knife out.

Ragin_Cajun 09-28-2012 08:28 AM

Electricic Knife and work from the tail back to the head....hard part is the rib cage....

Good meat!

Bluechip 09-28-2012 08:32 AM

I leave the rib cage in them... I lay the fish flat and cut from head to tail down the middle right above the rib cage then just filet the top half of the fish.

I know there is alittle bit of waist but you end up with a nice pretty filet off those sheephead....

GIBob 09-28-2012 08:33 AM

I just cut around the ribs, no meat there anyway.
