Offshore Venice La
We finally snuck back out this weekend for some tuna action. On saturday Capt Mike and I went out after shrimpboats since it was a little too rough to go to the floaters. We hit a bunch of shrimpboats and caught a few blackfin and our limits of amberjacks. The good news was bait was easy to get the bad news was tuna were hard to find. The next day me and mike split up and went in different directions. Unfortunatly for me he chose the right way to go and I chose the wrong way. He wound up getting five 50-70 pound yf and a limit of amberjacks and I ended up in the sahara desert of the gulf where only barracudas reside evidently. There were plenty of tuna caught by other captains on sunday but anybody like me who went off to mars and medusa struckout Ill be back out this weekend and fishing should continue to improve as we move into the fall.

Decked for Eddie on that 3 blacks and 3 amberjack trip. We had to work our butts off for them. He has not posted it yet but we did a lot better on the next trip with a load of blackfin. We actually caught over 50 of them. Most of them got a repreve. We did add a nice 130 pound Yellowfin into the mix.
