New addition to the family

Picked up my new baby on Friday. I have to say, the guys at Lake Area Marine are first class. Every question or request was met with a resounding "sure" or "no problem". A true definition of great customer service. And that doesn't even touch the quality of the product.

2013 Blackjack 224 w/ F300
101# MinnKota
8' PowerPole
4 Bank charger
HDS 7
VHF
Radio/CD/MPS with 4 speakers
Hydo Jack Plate
Trim Tabs
Swim Ladder

All the bells and whistles. They flush mounted all the electronics for a true custom look to the center console. Outstanding job!

If you are interested in purchasing a boat, make sure to check with Kyle or Gerald at Lake Area Marine. You won't be disappointed.

Lake Chuck Duck 10-08-2012 12:03 PM

Dang man thats slick! Congrats on the BJ!

hardball 10-08-2012 12:09 PM

Thanks guys!

I was able to get 2.3 hours on it Saturday running through the break-in process. So far I'm more than impressed with the performance.

5100 RPM @ 56-57 MPH
I was able to go WOT but was more concerned about driving the boat than checking performance numbers. It's amazing how smooth the boat is about 4000RPM @ 46 MPH.

Will get MPG/GPH results on next trip. I expect the performance to continue to improve after break-in.

Site says max HP is 250, how did you get them to hang a 300?
You going bare on insurance? Clean rig with flush mount in dash!!

The site hasn't been updated in a while. The performance bulletin is from 2004. 300 hp / 1800 lbs is the max on the plate for the hull and you'd have to be crazy to go bare on insurance. I believe the transom has been beefed up to handle the weight. That motor is only about 580 lbs.

Kyle said that's the first BJ they flush mounted all the electronics. Thanks...

Is there anything that you wish you had added or did add that you wouldn't live without?

DA COVE 10-08-2012 03:48 PM

Only thing i wish it had would be another pp. Guest it's just a want, lol.But that's in the works. That being said, just having one is great in an area with water depth such as bl. Other than that, It's set up just the way I want.
