VISIO LCD...........Best Bang for your buck............hands down...........try to get the high hertz you can afford (that is the screen refresh rate).......240 hertz is pretty awesome

Samsung if you want the best. Visio IMO is a close 2nd. They are tied with the rest. 600 series are great and may be more than you need. The 800 series are the schiznitz but have a lot of functions I wouldn't use.

Yes you are right Samsung is the best..........but if you are looking for the best bang for the buck...........Visio is the one!

Vizio ..... at Sams, best value

SULPHITE 10-05-2009 09:20 PM

Samsung high end LCDs are the best as far as LCDs go...

Cannot go wrong with a Vizio LCD...best bang for your buck!

Pioneer used to make the best Plasma...but Panasonic now is the leader in Plasma.

If you have a room that is quite bright you will have some reflections on a Plasma(they use a glass like surface for the screen cover, sorta like an old tube TV) while LCD do not reflect lights, bright windows etc.

LCDs on the other hand have issues with motion blur(fast moving objects have jagged edges) and cannot handle deep blacks (dark blacks) they will seem washed out or gray. Therefore for watching movies (dark blacks colors) and sports a Plasma is better.

Depends on what you want to watch and your room condition...the LCDs are getting better with motion blur depends on the viewier. I am very picky.

I have a Pioneer plasma in a semi bright room I notice reflection a little but I've had a lot of people compliment the quality of the picture...but you better get HD programming from your cable provider, it is the key!!!

yea, watching standard def on a big tv is worse than watching fuzzy local channels

That is why they are making the higher hertz LCD's. The 240 hertz refresh 4 times the original 60 hertz LCD's making the picture better for fast moving objects.

Y not? a generator produces clean power and the internal power supply (transformer) cleans it up even more. Unless you are talking about surges from powering other things on the same generator. Which still shouldnt matter because of the internal power supply in the TV. The transformer isolates it from the power source, so you should be OK.:confused:

i burnt mine up because the engine was running too fast and producing 140 volts. blew 2 power boards in mine said it will be 400 to fix, i can get a new one for that

Montauk17 10-05-2009 09:42 PM

I have a 42" Samsung DLP and it has a good picture, not as good as my dads 50" Panasonic plasma tho......cant go wrong with either one

bay_slayer 10-05-2009 09:43 PM

Roger that..........it sounds like the voltage regulator wasnt working properly on the genny.........thats the component controls and regulates the output voltage.

yak'em-n-stack'em 10-05-2009 09:45 PM

yea, its a cheap generator. works great for anything except electronics, burnt up the TV and the coil on an amp

yak'em-n-stack'em 10-05-2009 09:45 PM

would be great to go on a camp or something. ive done some work on it since, and got it running right
