Da point 10-09
Went break in my podnas used boat he just bought today. We left the quintana launch right after daybreak. Got to the cove area and there were a few sets of birds working. Caught a couple keeper specks and all the white trout you wanted. Moved around alot after that from the hammock to weeks bay back to the cove and everywhere inbetween, nothing but white trout. After noon the wind died flat calm decided to try the trash pile area. Got to the spot and there were several boats fishing damn near on top of each other. We noticed birds and shrimp busting everywhere away from the crowd by the avery canal. Got into some nice 2-3 pound trout almost every cast. Put 20 in the boat before the mad house came and wrecked the party, they just could not stand it. After that the trout vanished and never could find them again. Water was pretty dirty, but fishable...looked better in the cove heading back to the launch. I caught mine on purple/chart high life swimbaits and my podna caught his on gulp skrimps. Got some pics on my phone having trouble downloading them.

the mouth of the canal is the one with those two big poles on each side with rock piling on each side.... but if u coming from delcambre boat launch then just go straight all the way to the mouth of the bay which is where those two big poles on the sides. |
