You can post them on craigslist. Lots of people looking for pecans. A guy here in Scott has a machine to crack them for you. Let me know if you get tired of picking. We've been looking for pecans to pick for quite a while.

Maybe find a farmers market. I know a last that peels on halves in Houma. You bring her however many shelled pecans you have and she shells them and gives you half. That's a good deal if you ask me.

A friend got about 25 lb from my shop the other day. He said they were only getting like .50 lb right now. Apparently, it was a good year for pecans because last year, they were getting like 1.30 lb!

You guys won't believe it but my inlaws have a whole deep freezer full of shelled pecans some dating back to 1970 and 80s. They still cook with them. I won't eat anything baked with pecans in it at their house.

OhSoEasy 10-21-2012 09:27 PM

there's a place in milton that buys them. i think its about 50-75 cents a pound whole.
