Everglades vs. Shearwater

For 7 months I have been going back and forth about what bayboat to purchase. I fish coastal waters and relaltively close set of rigs on good days. I have narrowed my choices to either the 24.3 Everglades or the 25 Shearwater. Any opinions of either make would be appreciated. I have wet tested boat vessels, and still cannot determine the one I want. Thanks to all.

Sounds to me like you just need to bite the bullet and make a decision....

the 25' shearwater will be faster but the everglades will be drier . if you wanna fish bigger water more often...everglades . if you wanna fish big water and have ability to haul arse in if it looks like its getting nasty ..shearwater . everglades drafts more though

Shearwater ; the layout is more of a bayboat style then the Everglades.
For fishin in south la shearwater is the better option over the Everglades.
If u were in Fla I'd say Everglades.

I agree.....everglades doesn't even have a area to mount a trolling motor without getting in the way of the anchor compartment. I mounted one before and he had to get a aluminum bracket made. It looked like crap.

Agreed. I have a Shearwater 25TE. The front deck is huge. The shearwater is better suited for the serious shallow water angler. Though, don't rule out the Trtion 240LTS. One of the best all around boats out there. All are great boats, you just need to pick the one that best suits your needs.

Get a trans 2408 xlr8. It's fast, dry and super smooth. Donny will hook you up.

save 20k less than the Sheawater and have a better boat. I garonteee!!
I spent a year looking and I chose the 2400 over anything else. Ck it out

Hey Ted 11-11-2012 01:19 PM

Get a 300 Yamaha no matter what boat you buy.
