Bobcat DOWN!!

1 Attachment(s)
Attachment 41959Took this cat out yesterday evening on a deer hunt in Elizabeth, la. 200 yds with my 30-06. Complete luck shot, I was aiming for the head but really didn't think I would hit it or nor did I know that I did hit until I got to where it was. And yes I bragged when I got back to the camp. Also kille a small doe Thursday evening. All in all I had a pretty good trip to the camp with beer and friends!

Good time Nick.

I just woulda said it was 500 yards and I hit right where I was aiming. ;-)

Nick1230 10-27-2012 02:58 PM

Haha yea while it was running!! Everyone knew the area I was hunting and we can't get close to a 500yd shot so I didn't want to push it.

I wouldnt call it luck if you hit it where you were aiming. Nice shot

Congradulations...... and for a great shot.

Bobcats do a lot of harm to the Turkey and and some to the Deer population.

I have seen several Bobcats in Louisiana, but only twice while hunting and could not get a shot. My hunting partner shot one of these a few mintues after I saw it.

Cool. There isn't a season for bobcats in Indiana, but I suspect there will be within a few years. The population has really blown up over the last several years, especially in the southwest part of the state.

The season here in Louisiana started 4 or 5 years ago. Limit is just one per year per person.

Your right, it should be one per viewing of a bobcat, they are hard on the turkeys and small deer and other small game. It's not like you see them often so I'd say if u have an opportunity take it!!
