My petition to government to revamp welfare to limit people to 5 years to welfare

It is sad last few days I had to go into a meeting with my company to decide where we could cut 30 jobs nationwide. Never a good feeling or good job to do. Not due to sales due to potential increase in taxes and obama health care program. Now I don't see them making cuts to goverment assistance programs.

Sad that working american and businesses have to cut back. The people that abuse government assistance do not have cuts in their program. I am not talking about truly disabled people. I am talking about the people who refuse to work and feel they are entitled to government assisting them. I feel 5 years gives someone enough time to train in a skill and enter the workforce.

My petition needs 150 votes to be seen which I don't have any right now.
Here is the link to my petition.

Here how I wrote it not the best author and nothing will come of it, but I think they need to do something.

Reduce government assistance to five years or less per family.
Excludes retirees and the disabled.

We the people ask to reduce any and all state and federal government
assistance to a person or family to five years or less. Once any person
which includes any family member receives assistance they cannot get back on
government assistance in the future until they retire at the age required by
the federal government or legally considered disabled.

Government assistance is to help people retrain to go into the workforce to
improve their situation. Government assistance is not an entitlement for
people who are unwilling to improve their situation while on assistance. If
the person is unwilling to improve their situation after five years it is not
the people of the United States problem.

Exclusions
1. Legally Disabled
2. Mentally impared
3. Retirees which receive social security

I like it... I also think this petition should be extended to say that all persons (with the same exclusion group as on your petition) who have received welfare or other government assistance for 5 years should lose their voting privledges until off of government assistance. Same could be said of people who do not pay taxes... After 5 years of not putting any money into the system or not paying taxes, voting rights should be suspended.

Nobody will listen but all I want to say is hey something got to be done to curve the abuse of the system. Somebody's got to say we cannot afford to pay for this abuse congress.

I think 5 years for any person to find a trade, find a vocation, or work toward some type of career is enough time.

I got guys I have to let go that show up and do a good job.

Lower skilled entry level jobs most of the guys do not want to do it due to their baby mama's on assistance. She typically does not want them to work due to they are afraid they will cheat on them. To this day I cannot figure this theory out.
This is going on all over not just in Louisiana.

and they should be required to take a monthly drug test and not be able to vote while on welfare

Funny you bring that up.......this morning I was thinking "discounted vote"
Say you are on Welfare (barring your exclusions) for one year......your vote should count .80% of one vote, two years .60% and on down the line till you "welfare" out of a full vote

Its no surprise to me to find ideas like this on sites made up of the caliber of people that hang out on here and its one more reason that I am glad to be a member of the SC family..... if the majority of the people on here, there's others that each of us know, honestly ran this country it would be a much better place.

I emailed the link to everybody in my contact list today. Lord knows I have got 100 emails about the other petition to separate the south
