Henderson Duck Hunting

I'm looking for some advice on duck hunting at Indian Bayou in Henderson. I've never hunted the flats there, but have hunted the philips in the little canal ponds.

Any advice on where to go withan outboard (no mud motor) would be awesome - pleas PM me so we don't have 30 people in the same little spot!

I'm offdhore the whole first split, but would like some areas to scout when I get back between splits.

Thanks fella's

No replies or advice yet.... Should my question have been "is Henderson worth even hunting?"

I am new to this area but I believe that Henderson is hit or miss and you will never know when the birds are 'hitting' in their because the locals that hunt there are tight-lipped.

That being said, if you are interested in coots, every time I drive over the bridge there are 2 or 3 huge rafts of coots that have to number in the thousands. You can kill 15, don't have to get up early, and have heard they taste alright:)

The water is very low right now, so probably not much area for everyone to spread out. Go check it out and bring a fishing pole for the sacaulait

I have made a few good hunts out there....one of my podnas from cecila has a few honey holes. Like mentioned the locals are very tight lipped out there. I have no idea how to get there,it is way up north deep in the woods. Just like any other hunting, put the time in scouting and you will be rewarded.

Back when indian bayou was a private hunting club they used to flood some of the bean fields . Had some great hunts back then. I haven't been there since COE took it over.
