Laccasine Refuge fly-by

Look what flew over Laccasine Refuge last week. I wonder why there weren't any Geese hanging around?

Wax is loaded with em. We see 2-3 every hunt and they keep the birds moving for sure

Sure is pretty.... let them find one shot and duck hunting will be shut down

I saw one flying over a field the other day between lacassine and welsh exits off of the interstate.

What is that? I shot one of em that tried to light right on top of one of my cripples. It was early, thought it was a goose. I breasted it and threw the rest away. Not bad in a gumbo. Not as good as whooping crane though!

that's what i was thinking. Sunday we watched a marsh hawk snatch up a grey duck in flight about 70 yards in front of us. That sucker was cupped up going down in the pond in front of us and that hawk came out of nowhere and grabed his ***. Duck never saw it coming. Then the hawk flew over us about 30 feet above us and that duck was quacking like crazy. We just looked at each other in amazement.

Beautiful birds. Saw one a couple years back at Cameron Prairie.

Ditto! I rarely see one but it is surely a pleasure when one shows up. :)
