Looking for a lower unit for my Merc 40M 2000 yr mod. PM or call 337-288-5685 if you can help.

Just drain the water out and put gear oil in. :rolleyes:

Prop shaft is welded shut.

No. I had plenty of, "I think this guy is desperate to sell" offers and a few more who wanted me to part it out but, I still own the whole thing.

The only real reason I'd sell it is because it sits and does nothing nowadays.:redface:

Check on ebay. I found a very good 40 hp lower unit a few years ago for $ 700 and it looked like new.

If you don't find one......send an email to everyone that is selling engine parts. It might take a few weeks, but someone should come thru for you.
